Our Story

Yarn Bits and Bobs started as a mobile yarn shop in a converted FedEx truck, built from a love of fiber arts and a dream of creating joyful connections. After traveling weekly around Pittsburgh, we found our forever home at 8105 Perry Highway in McCandless Township, just north of the city, inside the Adzema Pharmacy building.

Today, we’re more than a yarn store—we’re a community destination. Our shelves are stocked with carefully selected yarns, knitting and crochet tools, and creative kits. We host weekly open crafting sessions on Tuesdays (11:30am–1:30pm) and Sundays (2pm–4pm), as well as private classes and group workshops to support every level of crafter.

Julie – Owner

Julie has been a passionate knitter for over 15 years. Taught to crochet at a young age by her grandmother, her love for fiber arts has been a lifelong journey. Many of the beautiful samples throughout the shop are her handiwork.

Julie especially enjoys two-handed Fair Isle knitting and is a continental knitter who also taught herself the English style. Her technical skills and eye for color bring a personal touch to everything in the shop.

In 2021, after a series of life changes, Julie left the corporate world behind—tired of being overworked and undervalued—and followed her heart into the happy world of yarn. Alongside her husband Vince, she founded Yarn Bits and Bobs, LLC, creating a space where creativity, community, and compassion come first.
