Fingerless Mitts

This class will consist of two classes, each two hours long in which you will learn some new simple cable skills as well as knit up some fast and warm fingerless gloves.
Skills taught in the class:
- Provisional tubular cast on
- Cables
- Cabling without a cable needle
- Lifted increases
- Magic loop
Skills required:
- Knowledge of how to knit and purl
Suggested known skills
- Knitting in the round
- Ability to "read" stitches in stockinette (telling the difference between a knit and purl in your work)
- Ability to pick up dropped stitches in stockinette
Required materials:
- US5 24 inch (or more) circular needles
- US7 24 inch (or more) circular needles
- Crochet hook (for provisional cast on and help if stitches are dropped)
- If you prefer double pointed needles for circular knitting, you will need US5 and US7 DPNs
- Cable needle (if not comfortable cabling without a cable needle)
